The Promise of Pain and Eternal Salvation

What would happen to God’s people if they were able to embrace suffering just as much as pleasure? James 1:2-4 says, “count it pure joy when you face trials of many kinds.” Do we count it joy or do we search for blame? Dear Christian, we must embrace our pain and suffering as we embrace the promise of eternal life. We must believe that the pain we feel is more precious than Gold and it’s producing Praise, Honor, and Glory to our risen Savior (1 Peter 1:6-7). In the midst of your trials and tribulations do you take a moment and say thank you God, let this produce Praise, Honor, and Glory to your name? If this became true of you and me then trouble would cease to become trouble and would result in praise to the king? Can cancer, death, fear, losing your Job, or a million other possibilites become something praise worthy? We are promised trials and tribulations just as we are promised heaven. 2 Corinthians 2:17 says it all, ” For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.” Our pain is light and momentary and it’s preparing FOR US an eternal weight of glory. OUR pain is not pointless it is doing something. Remember Christian that we do not look to what is seen but to what is unseen. Trust in the Lord and worship him through your next migraine.
